Tile Wrap Up & Beyond

Well the weekend saw the end of the tiling. Our tiler has done an incredible job. It took him a little while, but he was solo and he was very meticulous (exactly what you want from a tiler).

Highlights for us are ;
1) The Floor tiles look amazing! Our tiler has only done 3mm spacing with natural grout and it looks fantastic. We really like the fact that it doesn't emphasise our grout lines considering our tiles are on the smaller size.

2) We are very happy with our Ensuite & Main Bathroom niches. We both chose not to put feature tiles in our niches (keep it simple, so to speak). To our suprise it seems that simple can bring on an appeal of its very own and our finished result, we feel is a nice feature.

3) Our Front Portico looks very inviting indeed. I am sure that it will really come of its own when the render is painted sometime soon??

The plumbers were there also doing there bit last week. We now have a lovely throne room fit for a King, Queen & two little princesses (he he).

This week the electricians will turn the light on at the end of the tunnel .. :)' .. (and at the moment it seems like a nice and warm light indeed). Then the painters will make their mark applying the final coats to all the walls, doors, windows & exterior.

.... We hope it flows on like that??

  2. Hi B+M

    Your House is looking very pretty and coming up nicely . As you know we are going to build Sorrento with ROL we keep driving inspiration from your build.

    I had question regards to your ensuite shower wall with the glass door . Do you have two fins tiled wall areas next to glas door or have a fixed glass partitions and glass door in the centre . Did you have to upgrade to have entire wall with glass ?

    I was kinda wondering if you could take a pic next time round of the that back Media Entertainment area...

  4. Thanks Fee, yes we are pretty stoked with the colours. We are not the most adventurous in our colour palette but we might get braver at a later date :)

    Nirman, To answer your question, No we have tiled walls either side of the Ensuite shower opening with a soon to be fitted glass door in the centre. I know the full glass screen you are asking about is on display at Elderslie in the Esperance 26MKII. I am sure that this would be an upgrade.

    Kenneth, The opening to the Leisure Room is fine. It appears closed off but it really does gives you a feeling that it is a separate room while maintaining an open plan layout. We have opted to delete the standard window and put in a 2nd stacker door to the Outdoor Leisure. Best money spent as now we have opened up the whole Dining & Leisure area. In saying that we have opted to make our space ideal for entertaining, you may want to use it as a media area therefore smaller windows maybe a better choice? Keep looking in "More Pics"on RHS column of Blog and I will put some pics of the Liesure Room there for you to peruse.

    Regards to all

    B
